Grade K-2


Choose One Piece:

Lightly Row (Suzuki Book 1, #7)

or 

Cuckoo (Suzuki Book 1, #4)


Grade 3-5


Choose One Piece:

J.S. Bach, Minuet in B Minor (Suzuki Book 2, #4)

or

The Last Rose of Summer (Suzuki Book 2, #5)


AND


One piece of your choosing, with or without piano, no longer than 3 minutes. 


Grade 6-8

Saint-Saens, The Swan (Rubank Advanced Method)


AND


Choose One Piece: 

J.S. Bach, Polonaise & Badinerie (Suggested Edition  - Concert and Contest; articulation at discretion of performer)

or

R. Drigo, Serenade (Suzuki Book 3)


Grade 9-12


Katherine Hoover, Winter Spirits (Papagena Press)

Gabriel Faure, Morceau du Concours (Any edition) 


*Please note that both pieces are required for this category. Memorization is not required*

Guidelines: 

  • All registrants must have a current CFA Membership for the 2019 - 2020 season. 
  • An accompanist will be provided at no additional charge. A group rehearsal will be offered for each category. Private rehearsals can be arranged with the pianists, at the participants own expense, prior to competition. 
  • Participants may bring their own accompanist. 
  • Participants may register as either Competitive or Non-Competitive. 
  • Cash prizes will be awarded in each category for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. 
  • Grade 3 - 5: Please bring one copy of your choice piece for the judge.
